Tuttimelon Grand Reopening at North Beach/Chinatown

February 1st, 2010 by Jonas / Filed under Coffee & Drinks, Dessert, Food / Leave A Comment

The Tuttimelon in Chinatown/North Beach reopened this weekend, now as a self-serve frozen yogurt shop and as a hybrid store along with Tea Way, i.e., they now offer pearl milk tea drinks and fried snacks. They also still serve gelato (since they also used to be Yoogo Gelato). They were offering free frozen yogurt today [...]

Hot Apple Pie Drink at Posh

January 16th, 2010 by Jonas / Filed under Coffee & Drinks, Dessert, Food, French, Taiwan, Travels / Leave A Comment

We went to Posh II (the second location of Posh) for dessert. Their desserts didn’t have much of a wow factor, although their hot apple pie drink really did taste like a warm apple pie, but in drink form. Everything else (chocolate with ice cream, yogurt drink, crepe) was okay.

Cakes at Crown

The cakes at Crown beats the cakes at other drink places. My favorites were the green tea mousse cake and the strawberry chocolate tart. Crown is open 24 hours so it’s an ideal place for people with a sweet tooth to hang out. I also had their “Steamed Taffy Milk” and it was delicious.

You know what I love about Yong He Dou Jiang (永和豆漿)? It’s always open. Mimi and I went for a midnight run … to Yong He Dou Jiang. We took a break there and had some cold soybean milk. It’s only NT$10 for a cup of soybean milk. It’s served fresh, and at this price, [...]

Green Milk Tea at Pure Tea

January 8th, 2010 by Jonas / Filed under Coffee & Drinks, Food, Taiwan, Travels / Leave A Comment

In search for milk tea in Taichung, we stumbled upon Pure Tea. Another good spot for milk tea, where the service is as excellent as the drinks. I went with their green milk tea (奶錄). They ask how much sugar you want added and how much ice (how hot or how cold). If only more [...]

Drinks and Cakes at 85 Degrees Cafe

January 1st, 2010 by Jonas / Filed under Coffee & Drinks, Dessert, Food, Taiwan, Travels / Leave A Comment

I first heard about 85 Degrees Coffee (85°C/85度C咖啡) in California, but I knew its original location was in Taiwan. I went to try it this time, and the drinks were not bad. Cakes were pretty good too. Nothing outstanding, but not bad.

Tea at Ching Shin

January 1st, 2010 by Jonas / Filed under Coffee & Drinks, Food, Taiwan, Travels / Leave A Comment

While walking through Ximending, Jennifer and I saw a long line at Ching Shin (清心福全冷飲站) so we had to go there. Not sure what we got, but we asked for their most popular drink. We got an iced tea with a strong tea taste. Maybe chrysanthemum?

Guava Milk at Ximen 101 House

January 1st, 2010 by Jonas / Filed under Coffee & Drinks, Food, Taiwan, Travels / Leave A Comment

I always see Ximen 101 House (西門町101) because it has a prominent spot in Ximending. Their special for the day was guava milk (芭樂牛奶). That’s what I had … and it tasted like milk, only thicker. It might have been because after they finished making my drink, it didn’t fill up the cup so they [...]
