Sooo Cali Dog at Dog Haus in Pasadena

May 5th, 2012 by Jonas / Filed under American, Fast Food, Food, San Gabriel Valley, Travels / Leave A Comment

The tagline for Dog Haus is “Best of the Wurst”. Clever. I don’t think it’s the best of sausages, but they do serve some pretty mean dogs. They’re huge, juicy, and their buns are equally delicious. They use Hawaiian bread instead of regular hot dog buns, which is a nice touch. It’s slightly sweeter, soft, [...]

Must Eat Super Burger at Super Duper

October 12th, 2011 by Jonas / Filed under Fast Food, Food, Must Eat / Leave A Comment

Super Duper opened in Downtown not too long ago, and the line can get ridiculous, but the wait is worth it. Imagine it as a super version of In-N-Out where you wait in line, place an order, then wait for your burger to be cooked, except the patties are bigger and the selection of toppings [...]

Five Guys Burgers and Fries

June 30th, 2011 by Jonas / Filed under Fast Food, Food, Seattle, Travels / Leave A Comment

From what I’ve seen, there are two things to do in the small city of Bellingham, WA: 1) Rent a car and drive up to Canada, or 2) Eat at Five Guys Burgers and Fries. It’s quality stuff, everything made fresh, all cooked in peanut oil, and they have sacks of peanuts to prove it. [...]

Must Eat Poutine at Fritz European Fry House

November 7th, 2010 by Jonas / Filed under Fast Food, Food, Greater Vancouver, Must Eat, Travels / Leave A Comment

Another must eat while in Canada is poutine. It’s French-Canadian, but it’s made its way to BC. Jimson wanted to try it so I took him to Fritz European Fry House, the original local provider of Poutine in Vancouver. I remember when I first visited Vancouver a while ago, Fritz was just about the only [...]

Must Eat Flavored Portuguese Egg Tarts at KFC

January 8th, 2010 by Jonas / Filed under Bakery, Fast Food, Food, Must Eat, Taiwan, Travels / Leave A Comment

I wanted to go to KFC in Taiwan to test out their chicken. I wasn’t impressed. The regular piece that I tried tasted old so it was well below par, but the spicy one that I tried was hot and tasted like the ones in the states. Anyway, KFC in Taiwan doesn’t impress me much, [...]

Ice Cream Float at Burger King in Taiwan

January 7th, 2010 by Jonas / Filed under Fast Food, Food, Taiwan, Travels / Leave A Comment

I haven’t been inside a Burger King in the states for a while, but I’m pretty sure they don’t serve fruit-flavored ice cream floats. The one in Taiwan offers a green apple ice cream float and a tropical fruit ice cream float. They’re basically flavored soda with soft serve ice cream on top. Not bad, [...]

Lunch at SOGO Food Court

September 12th, 2009 by Jonas / Filed under Coffee & Drinks, Fast Food, Food, Travels / Leave A Comment

Steve, Jann and I had lunch at the SOGO FuXing food court. Unlike food courts in America, I actually like eating at the food courts in Taiwan. Food court meals seem a lot bigger, cheaper, and they don’t even look like fast food at all. I had a chicken steak and it came with veggies, [...]

Must Eat Portuguese Egg Tarts at KFC

September 10th, 2009 by Jonas / Filed under Bakery, Fast Food, Food, Must Eat, Taiwan, Travels / 2 Comments

I asked Anne where I could find the best egg tarts (蛋撻) in Taiwan, but she told me that they’re not that popular here and that the best she’s had was at KFC. I had to go see for myself. They actually serve Portuguese-style egg tarts (葡撻) instead, and yes, they were pretty damn good! [...]

Fried Chicken at T.K.K. Fried Chicken

September 7th, 2009 by Jonas / Filed under Fast Food, Food, Taiwan, Travels / Leave A Comment

While in Gongguan, we took a snack break at 頂呱呱 T.K.K. Chicken. I keep seeing this chain everywhere. Their fried chicken was not bad – nice and crispy. I really liked their curry-flavored nuggets though because we have nothing like that back in the states.

Breakfast from Hi-Life

September 6th, 2009 by Jonas / Filed under Coffee & Drinks, Fast Food, Food, Taiwan, Travels / Leave A Comment

I only slept for four hours! Before heading to church, I ran into Hi-Life to pick up a rice roll and some papaya milk. Only in Asia would I be satisfied with breakfast from a convenience store.
