Here’s the scoop: Family-owned business Romolo’s Cannoli & Spumoni Factory has been around in San Mateo for almost half a century, producing possibly the best cannoli in the Bay Area. Each cannoli is pumped to order, unlike most other bakeries where they’ve been sitting in the refrigerated display case for too long and have turned half-frozen. Their cream is smooth and the shell is light, strong, and a little flaky. You can get them in three flavors: pistachio, chocolate chip, or cherry filling, and you can get them with the shell coated with chocolate, so that’s 6 different combinations to try, or just plain regular.
