And the award for the best fried chicken in the Financial District goes to … Arki Truck! I’ve had fried chicken at a few other places in the area, even famous restaurants known for fried chicken, but this one beats them all. The skin is extra crispy and the meat is super juicy. It’s paired with freshly fried donuts (because waffles are so last year) topped with a slightly sweetened glaze. The chicken goes great with the glaze too, or dipped in the spicy aioli they provide. (Note: It’s not that spicy.) I wish the donuts (more like beignets since there are no holes) are a little lighter, but it’s all good – I just have to force myself to only eat one donut. (A meal comes with two.) After all, I still have work to do.
