The cupcakes at Love at First Bite aren’t the best, but they do have some awesome flavors that you can’t find just anywhere. In general, green tea is an all-time favorite flavor of mine – just call me Asian. Their green tea cupcake was a must for me and I loved it. The green tea frosting had a sweet yet bitter taste, and the cake itself was also green tea flavored; however, the cake was on the dry side. That’s what I also remember from my last visit here a few years ago.
On the other hand, the chocolate cake in the chocolate pistachio cupcake was a lot more moist, and again, the frosting was delicious. Overall, their frosting is my favorite part of their cupcakes. I like its texture – the buttercream looks like it’s hard-frosted but it’s actually not, yet it’s also not as light as to feel like you’re just eating whipped butter.
