There’s a new honey toast cafe in town and it’s called Akiba. I went during their first day of opening and I have to say, this is the most Asian cafe I’ve ever been to. They got everything down from the decor (anime-ish theme) to the menu (coffee, Japanese crepes and honey toast) to the waitresses in maid outfits.
It was their first day so they still had some kinks to work out with their service, but their honey toast is solid – I would know since I’ve been eating honey toast everywhere I go ever since I first found it in Taiwan over a year ago. I don’t think I need to describe what it is. Click through the pictures and see for yourself – it’s pretty and pretty self-explanatory. Or Google it. The Chinese/Taiwanese knows it as 蜂蜜吐司, the Koreans know it as 허니 토스트, and the Japanese knows it as ハニートースト.
Try to come with a group – at least 2, ideally 4, unless you all have big appetites – and try their honey toast with ice cream. (And please try not to harass the pretty maids.)
