A group of us ate at Old Mandarin Islamic Restaurant for David’s birthday. It’s definitely a great place for hot pot and good-ole Beijing food. Since this Chinese restaurant observes Islam, they don’t serve pork, but they do serve a lot of lamb. Aside from their hot pot, their Peking noodles and their beef pancake were a hit. The perfect end to our meal was their red bean cake, which resembled a thick, fried mochi with red bean paste.
