Liholiho Yacht Club: House-made Spam
Once you try the house-made spam at Liholiho Yacht Club you won’t look at spam the same ever again. Spam lovers will never look at spam again and spam haters will fall in love. Liholiho’s version is less salty and a little denser and meatier. It’s served like a deconstructed musubi, three thick slices over a bed of rice that has been drizzled with a mix of toasted sesame seeds, diced furikake, mildly spicy aoili and soy sauce, and the whole thing topped with pickles, minced scallions and togarashi. It’s not on the menu so just mention the spam to your waiter. My other personal favorite is their beef tongue, kimchi and cucumber in a poppy seed steamed bun, but really, I’ve dined here several times and everything is good … including the desserts, so don’t skip that either.
