Mensho Tokyo: Tori Paitan Ramen
Rich and Creamy Chicken Soup, Pork Chashu, Duck Chashu, Menma, Kale, Burdock, Katsuobushi Sauce
There are tons of ramen shops that I like, some in Japan, some outside of Japan, but of all the ramen shops I’ve been to the only ones that I’d ever be willing to wait in line for are the ones I really like in Japan and Mensho Tokyo in San Francisco. That’s all. I’m at the point in life where I’m okay with second best if it means saving an hour, but when it comes to Mensho Tokyo, I’d gladly wait. They can do no wrong when it comes to ramen. Their most popular is their rich and creamy tori paitan. I’m usually not a fan of fake meat vegan food, but I am a huge fan of tantanmen and Mensho Tokyo also does a very good job at a vegan version of it. These are a couple of their regular menu items, but scroll down to see all the other bowls I’ve tried that have come and gone (or maybe planning to stay) including spicy lamb ramen and matcha tori paitan. I do wish their tsukemen becomes a permanent resident.
