I’m usually not a fan of scones because they’re always dry, but the pear and caramel scone that I had at Sandbox Bakery was excellent. The inside was moist with chunks of pair, and the outside was crispy and lightly glazed with caramel – enough so that it’s not painfully sweet.
I also had an anpan, which is a Japanese sweet bun filled with red bean paste. Unlike other (Chinese) bakeries, they weren’t stingy with the red beans. It wasn’t as memorable as the scone, but still good.
