Shaved Snow at Snow Miracle in Westfield Oakridge Mall

Shaved snow (雪花冰) is one of my most favorite desserts in Taiwan, but it’s almost non-existent here in the states. The only place that serves shaved snow in the Bay Area is Snow Miracle inside the Westfield Oakridge Mall. It’s not as good as other places that I’ve had it at (Frappe Bliss in Richmond, B.C., Class 302 in Rowland Heights, and of course, Taiwan, but specifically XinFaTing), but it’s better than nothing. The texture is there and the feeling of having snow in your mouth was there, but the fruity flavors like mango lacked a stronger creamy taste like what I’m used to, and it lacked actual chunks of fruits. It’s also a lot more expensive for the amount you get at Snow Miracle.

The peanut shaved snow topped with chocolate syrup was really good – I’d get it again. White peach was also not bad. Until another place opens up that serves shaved snow at a better value, I guess I’m stuck going here. (Yes, I like it that much.)
