My very last meal in the Philippines was at John and Yoko Cosmopolitan Japanese, located inside the Greenhills Shopping Center. I guess we had enough of Filipino food by then. Overall, it was alright. It’s a great concept with a hip, modern environment and pretty girls serving. The food, however, was nothing too special in my book. I did, however, really like their spicy tuna salad, and I especially liked their tofu steak. I’d go back for those two dishes … and the hot servers.

Pinky and I went to Robinsons Galleria to walk off our lunch so that we could grab a second lunch. (Yeah, we’re definitely related.) We chose Mangan, a Filipino restaurant. We just ordered four things and no rice because rice is a filler. We had their sisig and their sinigang. Their food is not bad, but I liked their desserts better. Their bibingka came hot and fluffy with a sweet and salty taste, thanks to the egg. Their halo-halo was good – great for people with a sweet tooth. Overall, not bad.

I’ve never had Singaporean food in the states as good as Tao Yuan in Manila. It’s a huge hit with the Chinese community. Their Hainanese chicken was one of the best I’ve had, but my favorite was their chilli crab. The crabs are so meaty and the sauce is so good that you won’t even want it to go to waste … so they give you mantou to dip and eat with it. This is definitely one of my most favorite restaurants in the Philippines.
