Green Milk Tea at Pure Tea

January 8th, 2010 by Jonas / Filed under Coffee & Drinks, Food, Taiwan, Travels / Leave A Comment

In search for milk tea in Taichung, we stumbled upon Pure Tea. Another good spot for milk tea, where the service is as excellent as the drinks. I went with their green milk tea (奶錄). They ask how much sugar you want added and how much ice (how hot or how cold). If only more [...]

Spicy Wonton at Ding Shan Niu Rou Mian

January 8th, 2010 by Jonas / Filed under Chinese, Food, Taiwan, Travels / Leave A Comment

We loved Ding Shan Niu Rou Mian (頂好牛肉麵) so much that we went back there again for a bowl of their beef noodle soup. The other thing we also love getting here is their spicy wonton (紅油炒手). They always come out so soft and moist. Their minced pork rice (肉燥飯) is also very good. This [...]

Must Eat Flavored Portuguese Egg Tarts at KFC

January 8th, 2010 by Jonas / Filed under Bakery, Fast Food, Food, Must Eat, Taiwan, Travels / Leave A Comment

I wanted to go to KFC in Taiwan to test out their chicken. I wasn’t impressed. The regular piece that I tried tasted old so it was well below par, but the spicy one that I tried was hot and tasted like the ones in the states. Anyway, KFC in Taiwan doesn’t impress me much, [...]

I’m not really into lamb, but Jennifer and Tony are and they seemed to love the food at Zheng Zong Gang Shan Yang Rou (正宗岡山羊肉). We ordered noodles with lamb, lamb stomach, and of course, the lamb stew. Not bad! 台中市北屯區昌平路一段91-23號‎ – 04-2234-1435‎

Ice Cream Float at Burger King in Taiwan

January 7th, 2010 by Jonas / Filed under Fast Food, Food, Taiwan, Travels / Leave A Comment

I haven’t been inside a Burger King in the states for a while, but I’m pretty sure they don’t serve fruit-flavored ice cream floats. The one in Taiwan offers a green apple ice cream float and a tropical fruit ice cream float. They’re basically flavored soda with soft serve ice cream on top. Not bad, [...]

Street Food at the ChungHwa Night Market

January 7th, 2010 by Jonas / Filed under Food, Street Food, Taiwan, Travels / Leave A Comment

The ChungHwa Night Market (中華夜市) was not as big as the Feng Jia Night Market (逢甲夜市). The food was still good, but it didn’t have as much variety. My favorite of the night was the bbq fried chicken steak (碳烤雞排) from 一中8兩碳烤雞排. The flatbread (烙餅) I had from Hit Cookie Home (打餅舖) was good, but [...]

Shrimping at Tai Zhong Dong Ming Diao Xia Chang

January 7th, 2010 by Jonas / Filed under Chinese, Food, Taiwan, Travels / Leave A Comment

This was my first time to ever go shrimping. It’s like fishing, except we fished for shrimp, and instead of going into the waters, we did it inside a giant pool that gets refilled with new shrimps every hour. Sounds kinda ghetto, huh? The place we went to was Tai Zhong Dong Ming Diao Xia [...]

January 6th, 2010 by Jonas / Filed under Bakery, Food, Must Eat, Taiwan, Travels / Leave A Comment

Sandwiches at Hong Rui Zhen Bing Dian

January 6th, 2010 by Jonas / Filed under Bakery, Food, Taiwan, Travels / Leave A Comment

We went to a small bakery called Hong Rui Zhen Bing Dian (洪瑞珍餅店)  that was so crowded there was no room to walk. They are known for their sandwiches. At first I thought, how good could a sandwich coming from a Taiwanese bakery be? I looked at the sandwich and it looked like something I [...]
