October 18, 2015 – October 19, 2015 – My visits to Taipei are usually nice a long, but this time I only had two full days. I still made the most of it, showing my family around diferent sites (CKS Memorial, Ximending, Taipei 101, night markets, etc.) and eats. Here are my notes …
Oldies but goodies:
Fuxing branch. I’ve only been to two other branches but I feel like the food tastes better here. According to a few taxi drivers I’ve asked in the past, they also recommend this one.
There’s always room for “mi sua”. Always.
藍家割包 – Still my #1 must visit must eat when in Taipei. Unfortunately, the line for 陳三鼎黑糖粉圓專賣店 was ridiculously long so I could not pair it with a drink.
Still my favorite oyster omelet.
Din Tai Fung Restaurant – The original branch off of Yong Kang St. Their crab soup dumplings are amazing.
New JONASAPPROVED finds:
They have only one flavor which changes *weekly* (I heard on a tv show that it’s daily, but it’s not!) and uses quality ingredients.
WUnique Pâtisserie – One of the few patisseries in Taipei that does pastries right. Excellent mille feuille.
A11 – It’s an old establishment but new to me. It’s one of the better buffets in Taipei. It’s not as good as the W’s, but at a fraction of the price, definitely worth it.
I’ve seen this before several times in the past but finally decided to try their soft serve ice cream.
